As per the report by Football Governing Body ( FIFA ) ,Last Year ,More than half of the players in European Championship And Africa Cup Of Nation was being abused online .Taking this report into the consideration.FIFA is going to launch an online Social Media Protection Cell for the upcoming FIFA world cup which will scrutiny hated ,Abusive comments and posts from the playing nations players accounts after their respective matches .Its is always seen that fans start writing abusive and hated comments after their favorite teams loss on the the social media platforms of the players .
FIFA in their statement said online social media protection cell will keep a close eyes on all the players social media accounts during the World cup and if they find any hated or abusive comment being posted on the players profile they will immediately report to the concern social media representative and authorities to remove the comments or post and restrict that account .
Further in the statement FIFA said ,such hatred or abusive comments or post effects the players performance and FIFA is commented to provide the utmost playing conditions for players .We are aware of online crime that why we are going to launch this online cell to protect the players mental health and wellbeing . FIFA President Gianni Infantino in his twitter post “FIFA is committed to provide the best possible conditions for players to perform to the best of their abilities ”
Even the social media giants ( Facebook ,Instagram, Youtube ) has added features in their platforms to report or restrict such hated or abusive comments or posts .
Many International Players are appreciating the efforts being taken by FIFA to stop hate or abuse on the social media profiles of the players .Many players has faced such hated or abusive behavior of fans and that has affected their professional and personal life .Nowadays Social media has been incredible effect tool for promotion and many international players are social media influencers and brand ambassadors.
