Kieron pollard ,One of the finest finishes and incredible all rounder has announced his retirement from Indian Premier League ( IPL ) .The West Indies legend has been acquired in 2009 by Mumbai Indian ( Owned by Reliance Group ) .Kieron pollard has been the important part of MI team in these 13 seasons .
He has shared this announcement with a letter and few special photos with the franchise. He wrote in his note “Once An MI always an MI ” its has not been an easy decision to take ,I intend for play for MI for few more more year,but with decision with franchise and in the interest of franchise I have decided to take this decision ”
Kieron Pollard has been an integral part of team and during these 13 seasons ,franchise has won 5IPL trophies ( 2013,2015,2017,2019 and 2020 ) and won 2 champions leagues ( 2011 and 2013 )
Pollard further writes in his note “He will not be MI teams in IPL now but he has accepted the role of batting coach to nurture young cricketers for the franchise and He will play with MI Emirates .
Kieron Pollard is considered to be one the finest all round in IPL,In many occasions his batting helped MI to run nail-biting matches,Because of his all rounder performers,MI was able to lift the IPL for 5 times ,No other franchise has done it .In the retirement note ,He has mentioned and thanked owners of MI , Mr Mukesh Ambani ,Mrs Neeta Ambani And Mr Akash Ambani for their support ,love ,respect and motivation for all these years .He has also mentioned Robin singh ( Fielding coach of MI ) for his support .In his note ,he shared his family photos ( with his wife and kids ) during the good times spent in the franchise.
He ended his retirement note with the tag line of Mumbai Indian Franchise ” We are Family “
